Whangārei Proud, based in Whangārei, Te Tai Tokerau, is dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments for our Rainbow & Takatāpui community.
Our diverse members and volunteers provide a welcoming space where everyone can connect, celebrate, and feel at home. The annual Whangārei Pride Festival takes place every March.

Let’s kick off our Pride Festival 2025 with a bang!!
Join us in celebrating the opening of the Whangārei Pride Festival! We will gather at Laurie Hall Park at 4pm on Saturday 1st March.
The opening ceremony will include reflective and interactive elements, honouring those who have gone before us and what we are creating for future generations. This event is appropriate for all ages to participate in.
When the ceremony concludes, we will relocate to Pride HQ, 65 John Street to share kai, drinks, stories, laughs and plans at our opening potluck party! – Bring something to share if you can.
